Road from Gate (G-3) to Subiyah Main Road

Scope of Work
The work to be carried out by the Contractor includes a detailed site survey, detailed engineering, design, material specification, provision of all the manpower, material, plant, tools & equipment, construction, inspection and testing of the New Asphalt road from KOC Gate (G-3) to Subiyah Main Road in North Kuwait
The proposed new asphalt road shall comprise dual carriageway with four lanes each lane has minimum 3.4 metre wide, 2metre wide hard shoulder on both side of the each carriageway, median barrier (metal beam with guard rail) and one (1.0) meter wide verge on both side of the road. New asphalt road shall be proposed to construct in such way to keep approximately 15m clear distance from new road edge to existing road edge on east side and existing road shall be used as a temporary road. In case of presence of underground services / above ground facilities / obstruction to the construction / HSE Issue, the Contractor shall make allowance to his tender to design the road in line with Company Standards listed in this specification. This work shall include provision of road signs, road markings, glass beads, road studs, traffic signs, cat eyes, and all the associated works shall be in accordance with Kuwait Government rules and regulations. The work also include construction of RC culverts, provision of sleeves for protection of existing services, installation of cable ducts and spare sleeves for road crossing, provision of crash barriers, protection barriers, new pipe / cable markers at road crossing and all associated works required for this project.
The Scope of Works to be executed by the Contractor shall include the following: - a) A detailed field and route survey shall be carried out to set out, peg and keep the true and proper final points, centre lines, widths and levels of road at regular and approved intervals.
b) Geotechnical investigations shall be carried out along the proposed route in accordance with Company Standard KOC-C-003 to determine the CBR valve & soil profile / water table.
c) Detailed design shall be carried out based on detailed survey and submit detail design drawing for company approval prior to construction work.
d) Excavate and clear all vegetable growth, waste, loose rocks and any other extraneous matter to a minimum depth of 500mm, fifteen (15) metres on both sides from the centre line of proposed road. Load and cart away the debris to an approved dumping area.
e) All materials including rock from high level areas shall be excavated up to 150 mm below the required level of sub-grade for the full width of road construction includes dual carriageway, median barrier, hard shoulders and verge embankment. Cart away surplus excavation to an approved dumping area.
f) At low areas, backfill in layers with approved fill materials and compacted to 95% of modified proctor dry density to reach subgrade formation level.
g) Approved gatch material shall lay on prepared sub-grade and compact the subbase material to 95% of proctor dry density.
h) Construct the dual carriageway as follows: Apply MC-70 priming coat, Tack Coat and lay asphalt base, binder courses and wearing course. j) Construct the Shoulders on both side of carriageway as follows: prepare the sub base by compacted approved fill material to the required level as indicated in drawing and apply the prime coat over the sub base and lay the minimum 40mm thickness of rolled and compacted layer of asphalt concrete wearing course Type III to the full width of the road shoulders.
k) Fabricate and install median barrier (metal beam with guard rail) complete with its foundation at mid of the road and along the full length of the road.
