Scope of Work:
QP intends to retire the existing Dukhan Power Station (DPS); the objective of this project is to transfer all electrical loads currently supplied by Dukhan Power Station (DPS) , to a new upgraded Kahramaa system. The upgrade consists of constructing two new 33 kv substations to accommodate the existing DPS loads including future planned loads up to year 2022. These two new substations consist of a new Dukhan Township Substation No. 2 (DTS-2) located in the Dukhan Township and a new Process Switching Station (PSS) located 3 km south of the Dukhan township. The project also involves supplying and installing significant quantities of 33 kV underground cabling to allow the two new substations to be connected with Kahramaa new Primary 132 kV substation in Dukhan. Modifications to the existing 11 kV network in Dukhan is required to transfer the 11 kV loads from the DPS to the new DTS-2 substation.
