Jordan International 2009 Bid Round

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan through its organization, the Natural Resources Authority (NRA), invites petroleum exploration companies for the international 2009 bid round to explore / exploit for Oil & Gas in Jordan under the following two Production Sharing Agreements (PSA) Model:

1. PSA for the Northern Highlands Block:
The area of this PSA lies in the northern part of Jordan, bordering Syria on part of its northern boundary and the city of Amman in the south. The area covers approximately 7454 square kilometers.

NRA, Pauly and Total companies drilled 7 exploration wells (SW1, S90, KH1, ER1A, NH1, AJ1, NH2) in the block during the years (1959- 1991). No production was encountered in any of these wells.

2. PSA for the Jafr and Central Jordan Block:
The area of this PSA lies in the southern part of Jordan, bordering Saudi Arabia on part ofits southern boundary and the city of Amman in the north. The area covers approximately 19,156 square kilometers.

NRA and Hunt Oil drilled 2 exploration wells (JF-1 and JF-2) in the Jafr block during the years (1989- 1990).

General Obligations:
- Contractor shall commence operations within ninety (90) days after the effective date.

- First exploration term (3) years:
The seismic acquisition program shall start within 18 months of the Effective Date of this contract or the (U.S. $1.0 million) Performance Bond will be forfeited. Exploration well and (optional) well will be an exploration, appraisal or development well (not a re-entry).

During the first exploration term, contractor shall conduct geological studies aimed at furthering the understanding of the hydrocarbon potential of the Block. This work shall include, but not be limited to, petrophysical, geochemical studies, geological field investigations.

- There is an optional two years extension If the contractor elects to continue exploration operations.

- Contractor is not liable for any Signature or Discovery Bonuses or any First Shipment Bonuses at any stage of the contract. The Contractor shall pay to NRA a Production Bonus upon reaching certain levels of incremental cumulative production of either oil or gas from the Contract Area during the term of the agreement.

- Bank guarantee: 200,000 USD payable in Jordanian Dinars, for each block, to the Ministry of Finance/Customs, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Amman, Jordan.
