Supply of Circuit Breaker

Scope of Work
The company invites the tenders for the supply, installation and commissioning of 72.5KV outdoor SF6 circuit breaker at PS21 Nairobi Terminal.
The scope of works shall include the following but not be limited to:-
- Decommissioning of existing 72.5Kv circuit breaker. This includes disconnecting overhead power conductors and all control cables to the breaker.
- Carrying out any necessary civil modifications works in the substation to allow for retrofitting of the new breaker.
- Supply and installation of the new breaker on to the existing supporting structure or modified structure.
- Termination of all overhead power conductors and all control cables to the new breaker and ensure all earthing works for supporting structures is carried out.
- Pre-commissioning testing and commissioning of the circuit breaker to the satisfaction of the company’s engineer.
- The Tenderer shall be required to develop a contingency during installation works to ensure minimal interruption to the company’s normal operations. The substation serves a critical pipeline station supplying product to Western Kenya region with no redundancy of supply. This contingency plan shall ensure that pumping operations are not interrupted for more than 8 hours a day during implementation stage and that the actual commissioning period is kept to a minimal.
- The tenderer shall submit a Statement of Methodology and a Job safety analysis for the works.
- The Tenderer, together with a team of engineers, shall be required to carry out a structured and comprehensive factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) and sign the relevant forms.
- The Tenderer shall ensure that before the completion of the project, at least four copies of the relevant manuals and documentation, including as built drawings are availed to the company in hard and/or software forms.
- The Tenderer shall offer a comprehensive and complete factory training for four (4 No.) maintenance staff. The content and depth of the training shall be agreed with the company. Further training for maintenance staff will be carried on site during execution of works.
- On award of the contract, the Tenderer shall develop and present to the company, within two weeks, a comprehensive functional design specification (FDS) document which shall address all functions as stated in this tender document. Any omissions of the functions shall be re-instated, when noted by the company at any time in the contract, by the Contractor at no additional cost to the company.
- The Tenderer shall propose the estimate implementation period from the date of contract signing to project commissioning. The project
implementation schedule shall be provided.
- The Tenderer shall be required to carry out own surveys of the site in order to come out with a complete quotation before tendering. A Statement of Methodology shall be submitted by the contractor showing contingency measures to be put in place to ensure minimal interruption to the company’s pumping schedule.
- The Tenderer shall provide in their tender two years’ worth of maintenance spares as recommended by equipment manufacturer.
- The Tenderer shall provide in their tender any special maintenance tools required.
- The Tenderer shall provide in their tender a 1 Year warranty.
