Repowering of Crew Boats

Scope of Work
The company invites bidders for the Repowering of its Crew Boats. The scope of Work shall include the following:-
* Conduct technical studies, design, engineering, supply and installation, assembly, commissioning and testing of main engines, gearbox units, control system integrating the new engines to the Boat’s present alarm and monitoring system and other related equipment for Haqel series crew boats of Company marine fleet and the provision of any and all Works which could be deemed necessary and as described in the Contract to complete the Works.
* Removal of existing main engines (2 nos.), gearboxes, auxiliary systems, existing control system and transported / delivered to Company’s marine warehouse at the project.
* The Works shall include the main engines commissioning and trials (alongside jetty), sea trials in the coastal waters of the location of shipyard and operational acceptance trials and delivery of Boats at Company’s small boat harbour (SBH), in the ptoject. The Company shall not provide any ship lifting facility or ship repair facility, and the Contractor shall execute the Works in a shipyard or suitable ship repair facility inside or outside the country, which shall be approved by the Superintendent at least six (6) to eight (8) weeks before commencement of the Works at Site.
* Prior to the commencement of the sea trials, the boats shall be dry-docked to Form of Tender in order to have Boat’s hull and propellers in clean condition.
* The Contractor shall submit the programme of Works with details of approved shipyard or ship repair facility for approval before start of the Works.
* The Contractor shall be responsible for arranging transportation of the Boats (cargo, towing etc.) from the Company’s small boat harbour (SBH) in the project to the shipyard or the ship repair facility, the insurance of Boats as per clause 10, qualified crew for sea trial, clearance from Ministry of Communications (MOC), Kuwait and the cost shall be deemed included in the Contract Price.
* The Works hall be carried out on serial basis where only one (1) crew boat shall be handed over to the Contractor. Upon completion of the Works including trials (sea and operational acceptance), delivery and acceptance by the Company, the second (2nd) crew boat shall be handed over to the Contractor. Subsequent to the completion, delivery and acceptance of the second (2nd) crew boat by the Company, the third (3rd) crew boat shall be handed over to the Contractor.
* Due to the probable long lead time required for procurement and manufacturing process, the Equipment for the three (3) crew boats shall be ordered altogether by the Contractor.
* The Company reserves its right to refuse payment for any and all unauthorized works rendered by the Contractor, and no claims or adjustment orders shall be accepted under the pretext of implied acceptance by the Company, unless the Superintendent had approved such works in writing.
