Supply of Ultrasonic Flow Meter

Scope of Work
The company invites bids for the supply of Ultrasonic Flow Meter with Specifications as follows:-

1. Transducer Type: Non-Intrusive

2. Mounting: Clamp-on

3. Measuring Principle: Transit Time Ultrasonic Principle

4. Flow Range: 50 to 500 Kl/Hr suitable for different sizes of pipe (101.6 mm to 406.4 mm O.D.)

5. Accuracy: +/- 1% or better of measured value over the entire flow range

6. Repeatability: +/- 0.2% or better of measured value over the entire flow range

7. Protection against EMI/RFI, Lightning strike and should be intrinsically safe for use at hazardous locations.

8. Enclosure Classification/ Housing: EXPLOSION PROOF - CLASS-I, DIVISION-I; GROUP B, C & D, EExD IIB T4.

9. Area Classification: HAZARDEOUS AREA - Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C & D.

10. Approvals Required: CCOE/ATEX or CIMFR (Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research) for the entire Flow Meter Unit comprising of the Transducers and the Electronic Measuring Unit. Documentary evidence regarding the same must be submitted along with the bid.

11. Outputs required:
i) Galvanically isolated analog output of 4-20 mA DC, without the use of any external power supply, for full range of flow to drive a load of 600 ohm for interfacing to SCADA.
ii) One change over contact (Normally open) output corresponding to every kilolitre of service delivery.
iii) Modbus serial output on RS485.

12. Display of flow rate and totalized output.

13. Electronic Measuring Equipment should be:
a) Modular in design.
b) Flameproof suitable for use at hazardous locations.
c) Weather proof IP-65.
d) Should have built-in facility for fault diagnosis.
e) Should have front panel display of flow rates and total Kilolitres delivered and % flow.
f) Power supply for operation: 18-30 V DC.

14. The Electronic Measuring Unit shall be mounted at field near the transducers. The output from the Electronic Unit shall be connected through signal cables to the RTU at control room (approximate distance to the control room: 200 metres). The supply of these signal cables is in the scope of the bidder.

15. Sensor/ Transducer cable: The supply of cable between the sensors and the signal converters/ flow electronics is in the scope of the bidder. Bidder must supply suitable flameproof cable glands, mounting fitments and connectors for cable termination at the flow meter and flow electronics end.

16. Supply of Spares:
i) Bidder must supply one pair of extra Sensor/ Transducer as spare common for all Four Nos. of Flow meters.
ii) Suitable ultrasonic couplant for boosting the signal strength flow meter.

17. Service Conditions:
i) Service Fluid: Crude Oil
ii) Flow type: Uni-directional laminar flow
iii) Flow range: 50 to 500 Kl/Hr
iv) Service Area: Outdoor; Hazardous
v) Relative Humidity: 95%
vi) Operating ambient Temperature: 4 degree C to 60 degree C
