Scope of Work
The company invites bids for the Supply of Fire Trucks. The Scope of Work Description includes the following:-
- The company is interested in purchasing a Specialized Industrial Fire Fighting Vehicle for use by its industrial fire brigade in the country which is compliant to international Standards. The primary purpose of the vehicle will be to provide initial response to typical industrial fire situations.
- Two types of vehicles are required, namely Deck Gun and Boom vehicle. All of the general requirements and information the Scope of Work SHALL be applicable to both specifications.
- The fire fighting vehicle shall be designed and manufactured as a multi-purpose fire fighting vehicle with structural firefighting capability as well as provide sufficient agent (water/foam/hydrochem) capacities to effectively combat fires typical of the petrochemical industry. The vehicle provided shall be fully equipped with firefighting tools and appliances required for sustained operations and rescue tools and equipment to perform structural firefighting and rescue operations.
- The vehicle being offered shall be designed and manufactured to work properly in adverse desert environments with temperatures up to 55 degrees celcius and 95% humidity.
- The Industrial Fire Fighting Vehicle and ancillary equipment being offered shall be manufactured in accordance with current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1901 (Standard for Automotive Fire Fighting apparatus), applicable European Norms (EN) standards and appropriate vehicles prescribed by the regulatory agencies of the country.
- All equipment shall be new (model to be same year as the tender) and of the most current design for Fire Department use. Used or refurbished equipment shall be unacceptable.
- Minimum Technical Specifications for the production and delivery of the Industrial Fire Fighting Vehicle. The vehicle shall comply with the minimum safety requirements specified in NFPA 1901 and applicable EN standards. Where the specification cannot be met, alternatives with full explanation shall be given. The company strives to have vehicles fit for purpose by combining specific requirement for the safety of their firemen, best practices and developing trends.
