Category: Maintenance and Repair

Scope of Work
The company invites all prospective suppliers and contractors for Scour Protection and Repair Works of Al-Khor Tug Berth.

Contractor shall carry out Procurement, Installation, Construction and Handover of the facility. Al-Khor Tug Berth (ATB) facility is located at the north-west sector within the Ras Laffan Port. Following the commissioning of the facility in 1995, underwater surveys have been conducted by RLC Port to ensure the integrity of the structures. Underwater inspections conducted in 2012 indicated the inception of scour at ATB scour protection structure. Port operations immediately took some operational restriction at the facility to prevent progress of the scour which was stabilized as depicted in subsequent inspections conducted from 2012 to 2015. Ras Laffan City (RLC) initiated necessary steps to implement a complete solution to mitigate the problems associated with scour formation at the berth. Accordingly, a failure analysis study was conducted in 2015 by a team comprising engineering representatives from various departments. Following the recommendation of the failure analysis study, a Detailed Engineering Study was completed in 2016 to provide scour protection system to the ATB facility (ref : 3924-RP111-1-17-0003) to ensure the safety and continuity of operations. The objective of this Construction contract is to provide a comprehensive solution to mitigate the problems associated with scour formation at the ATB facility.
